Quotations

1817
A plate of Berry Pemmican was produced which was approached as [if] they were approaching a piece of bird lime.
1956
An especially nice kind, called berry pemmican, was made by adding crushed choke cherries or berries. The ripe cherries were pounded, just as the meat had been, and the cherry paste, stones and all, was stirred in with the meat and fat. Now and then, as a very special touch, a few crushed leaves of peppermint were added.
